Slum Dwellers International (SDI) is a global network that supports people living in informal settlements, or slums. Established in 1996, it connects grassroots organizations to empower residents to advocate for their rights, access better housing, and improve living conditions. SDI promotes inclusive urban development and works on issues like sanitation, safety, and income generation. By sharing knowledge and resources, it aims to help communities negotiate with governments and improve their situations through collective action and urban planning initiatives.
