Slave Dynasty
The Slave Dynasty was a period in Indian history (roughly 1206–1290 CE) when a series of rulers, originally slaves or of slave origin, governed Delhi and northern India. Despite their humble beginnings, they established the Delhi Sultanate, which laid the foundation for Muslim rule in India. Their leadership marked the start of Indo-Muslim culture and governance, influencing the region’s history for centuries. The dynasty is notable for its military campaigns, architectural developments, and for consolidating Muslim political power in India.
