Situational Poverty
Situational poverty refers to a temporary state of financial hardship that arises due to specific circumstances, such as job loss, illness, natural disasters, or family crises. Unlike chronic poverty, which is often linked to systemic issues, situational poverty can occur suddenly and may not indicate a long-term lack of resources or opportunities. People in situational poverty may have previously been self-sufficient but find themselves struggling due to unforeseen events. With support and intervention, they often can recover and return to stability more quickly than those facing persistent poverty.
