Sisters of the Yam

The Sisters of the Yam is a cultural group founded in the late 20th century that promotes Black women's empowerment and heritage. Named after the nourishing yam, symbolizing strength and sustenance, the organization fosters community building, leadership, and cultural pride among Black women and girls.
