Simple Substance

A simple substance is a type of matter made up of only one kind of element, meaning all its particles are identical atoms. Unlike compounds, which consist of different atoms chemically bonded together, simple substances cannot be broken down into simpler substances by normal chemical means. Examples include pure elements like gold, oxygen, and nitrogen. They have uniform properties throughout and are fundamental building blocks for more complex materials.
