Siku Quanshu

The Siku Quanshu, or “Complete Library of the Four Treasuries,” is a massive collection of Chinese books compiled in the late 18th century during the Qing Dynasty. Commissioned by Emperor Qianlong, it aimed to preserve and organize China’s literary heritage by gathering texts across various subjects, including history, philosophy, and poetry. The collection consists of over 36,000 volumes and is divided into four main categories: classics, history, philosophy, and literature. It serves as a vital resource for understanding Chinese culture, thought, and history, reflecting the intellectual efforts of its time.
