Siege of Orléans

The Siege of Orléans (1428–1429) was a key event during the Hundred Years’ War between England and France. English forces laid siege to the French city of Orléans, aiming to control it and weaken French resistance. French defenders, boosted by the leadership of Joan of Arc, who believed divine guidance was guiding her, mounted a determined defense. Their successful efforts lifted the siege in May 1429, turning the tide of the war in favor of France. This victory boosted French morale and marked a turning point, eventually leading to the French reclaiming territories from England.
