Siberian Yupik
Siberian Yupik is a language spoken by the Yupik people primarily in the Chukotka region of Russia and on Saint Lawrence Island in Alaska. It is part of the Eskimo-Aleut language family, known for its complex grammar and rich vocabulary, particularly concerning the environment and hunting, which are crucial to the Yupik way of life. The language has several dialects and is threatened by declining numbers of speakers due to globalization and cultural changes. Efforts are ongoing to preserve and revitalize Siberian Yupik through education and community initiatives.
