Siachen Brigade
The Siachen Brigade is a military unit of the Indian Army tasked with defending the Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battlefield, located in the Himalayan region near the India-Pakistan border. This region is strategically important and very challenging due to extreme cold, high altitude, and difficult terrain. The brigade's primary role is to monitor and secure the Area of Control, prevent enemy intrusion, and maintain territorial integrity. Its soldiers endure harsh conditions, making their presence vital for national security in this sensitive mountainous border zone.
