SI (International System of Units)
The International System of Units (SI) is a standardized system used worldwide to measure physical quantities. Established to ensure consistency in science and everyday life, SI includes seven base units: meter for length, kilogram for mass, second for time, ampere for electric current, kelvin for temperature, mole for the amount of substance, and candela for luminous intensity. Additional derived units can be formed from these basics, such as newtons for force. Using SI helps scientists, engineers, and the public communicate measurements clearly and unambiguously across different regions and fields.
