Shunyata (emptiness)
Shunyata, or emptiness, is a concept from Buddhist philosophy that suggests all things lack inherent, independent existence. Instead, everything is interconnected and arises dependent on causes and conditions. This means objects, ideas, and even our sense of self are not fixed or separate, but exist in a web of relationships. Recognizing emptiness helps reduce attachment and suffering, fostering a deeper understanding of the fluid, interconnected nature of reality. It’s not about nothingness, but about seeing the true, interdependent nature of all phenomena beyond superficial appearances.
