Shuja-ud-Daula (Nawab of Awadh)

Shuja-ud-Daula was the Nawab (ruler) of Awadh (Oudh) in northern India during the 18th century, particularly from 1748 to 1775. He was a prominent figure in regional politics, known for his military strength, strategic alliances, and efforts to strengthen his territory. Despite his power, Awadh was also influenced by larger imperial forces, including the British East India Company. Shuja-ud-Daula played a significant role in resisting colonial expansion, especially during the decline of Mughal authority. His leadership reflects the complex politics of regional kingdoms in India before direct British dominance became widespread.
