Shudra
Shudra is one of the four traditional social groups in the Indian caste system, historically comprising artisans, laborers, and service providers. Rooted in ancient Vedic texts, the Shudras' role was to serve the other three groups—Brahmins (priests), Kshatriyas (warriors), and Vaishyas (merchants). Over time, this system influenced social hierarchies and occupational roles in India, often leading to social distinctions and inequalities. Today, although caste-based discrimination is legally banned in India, the legacy of these social divisions continues to affect societal perceptions and individual opportunities.
