Shoshenq I

Shoshenq I was an ancient Egyptian king, often called the founder of the 22nd Dynasty around 943 BCE. Originally a military leader from Libyan descent, he rose to power and reunited Egypt after a period of chaos. He expanded his rule into parts of the Levant (modern-day Israel and surrounding areas), leaving inscriptions that link him to biblical figures like King Jeroboam. Shoshenq I is known for strengthening Egypt’s political and military stability, promoting religious rituals, and leaving a legacy of influence that bridged Egypt’s past and new Libyan rule.
