Shikoku Region

The Shikoku Region is the smallest of Japan’s four main islands, located southwest of Honshu and Kyushu. Known for its lush scenery, mountains, and coastal areas, it features four main prefectures: Tokushima, Kagawa, Ehime, and Kochi. Shikoku is famous for its traditional pilgrimage route of 88 temples, vibrant festivals like Awa Odori, and its artistic heritage, including indigo dyeing and calligraphy. The economy relies on agriculture, fishing, and small-scale manufacturing. Despite its size, Shikoku offers a rich mix of cultural history, natural beauty, and authentic local traditions.
