Sheehan's Syndrome

Sheehan's Syndrome is a condition that occurs when a woman experiences severe blood loss or very low blood pressure during or after childbirth, damaging her pituitary gland—the small master gland at the brain's base. This damage impairs hormone production, affecting various body functions such as milk production, menstrual cycles, energy levels, and metabolism. Symptoms may develop gradually and include fatigue, absence of menstruation, and difficulty breastfeeding. It is a rare but serious condition that can be managed with hormone replacement therapy to restore hormonal balance and improve quality of life.
