Shanghai Transrapid project

The Shanghai Transrapid project is a high-speed magnetic levitation (maglev) train system connecting Shanghai's Pudong Airport with the city center. Utilizing electromagnetic forces, the train floats above its tracks, reducing friction and allowing it to reach speeds over 430 km/h (267 mph). This technology enables faster, smoother, and quieter travel compared to traditional trains. Completed in 2004, it was the world's first commercial maglev line, showcasing advanced transportation engineering. The system enhances airport-to-city connectivity, demonstrating innovative use of magnetic levitation for efficient urban transit.
