Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
Sexual orientation refers to whom a person is attracted to emotionally, romantically, or sexually, such as heterosexual (attraction to the opposite sex), homosexual (attraction to the same sex), or bisexual (attraction to both). Gender identity is about a person's internal sense of their own gender, which may be male, female, both, neither, or somewhere along the gender spectrum. While sexual orientation is about attraction, gender identity is about self-perception and can differ from the sex assigned at birth. Both aspects are crucial for understanding individuality and the diversity of human experiences.
