Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)

A Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) is a coordinated group of professionals, including law enforcement, medical providers, counselors, and advocates, who work together to support and assist individuals who have experienced sexual assault. Their goal is to ensure a compassionate, comprehensive response—from immediate safety and medical care to investigation and emotional support—while respecting the survivor’s autonomy. SARTs promote a survivor-centered approach, streamline procedures, and improve the quality and consistency of care, ultimately aiming to help survivors recover and seek justice in a respectful, efficient manner.
