Senate of Pakistan

The Senate of Pakistan is the upper house of the country's Parliament, consisting of 100 members. Each of Pakistan's four provinces, as well as the Islamabad Capital Territory and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, elects senators. Senators serve six-year terms, with half of the membership renewed every three years. The Senate plays a crucial role in representing provincial interests, reviewing legislation passed by the National Assembly (the lower house), and advising on national matters. It ensures that all regions have a voice in the federal government, balancing power among provinces and promoting consensus in the legislative process.
