Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD)
Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) is an instructional approach that helps students learn and apply new skills by combining teaching strategies with strategies for controlling their own learning. It encourages students to understand, plan, and monitor their progress, building confidence and independence. For example, in writing, students might learn a plan for organizing their ideas, then practice using that plan while reflecting on their work. SRSD emphasizes a step-by-step process, combining teaching specific strategies with fostering awareness and self-control, ultimately enabling students to become more self-directed and effective learners.
