SELENE (SELENE-1)
SELENE (SELENE-1), also known as Kaguya, was an Japanese spacecraft launched in 2007 to study the Moon. It orbited the lunar surface, mapping its topography, magnetic field, and gravity, providing detailed insights into lunar geology and internal structure. SELENE's advanced instruments helped scientists understand the Moon's formation and evolution, filling gaps left by previous missions. It operated for about a year, sending valuable data back to Earth, and its findings have contributed significantly to lunar science and future exploration plans.
