SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio)

The Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) measures the cooling efficiency of air conditioning systems over an entire cooling season. It’s calculated by dividing the total cooling output (measured in British Thermal Units, or BTUs) by the total energy consumed (in watt-hours) during that same period. A higher SEER rating indicates better energy efficiency, meaning the unit uses less electricity to provide the same amount of cooling. This can lead to lower energy bills and reduced environmental impact, making it a key consideration when selecting an air conditioning system.
