Second Avenue Subway

The Second Avenue Subway is a major transit project in New York City, aimed at improving subway service on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Originally proposed in the 1920s, the first phase, which opened in January 2017, includes three new stations and connects to existing subway lines. The project alleviates congestion on the crowded Lexington Avenue line and offers a faster and more efficient travel option for residents and commuters. Future phases are planned to extend the line further uptown and into East Harlem, enhancing connectivity across the city.
