Sea Lion (Operation)

Operation Sea Lion was Nazi Germany's planned invasion of the United Kingdom during World War II, scheduled for 1940. The goal was to establish a foothold on British soil to weaken and eventually defeat the UK. However, the operation was never carried out, primarily due to the Royal Navy's dominance at sea and the failure of the German Luftwaffe to gain air superiority during the Battle of Britain. As a result, the invasion was postponed indefinitely, and Germany shifted focus elsewhere in the war. The plan remains significant as a major hypothetical military campaign in WWII history.
