Scottsboro Boys case
The Scottsboro Boys case involved nine Black teenagers falsely accused of raping two white women on a train in Alabama in 1931. Despite limited evidence and hurried trials, all were convicted, and several sentenced to death. The case drew national attention, highlighting racial injustice and unfair legal processes in the segregated South. Over time, many convictions were overturned or commuted, and the case became a symbol of the fight against racial discrimination and the need for fair legal representation for marginalized groups.
