Salonika Campaign
The Salonika Campaign was a military effort during World War I in the region of Thessaloniki (Salonika) in Greece, from 1915 to 1918. Allied forces, including Britain and France, aimed to support Serbia and push back Central Powers' advances. The campaign involved trench warfare and difficult terrain, with the Allies establishing a front in Greece. Despite limited success, it helped prevent the Central Powers from advancing southward and contributed to the overall Allied war effort. The campaign is notable for its challenging conditions and strategic importance in the Balkan theater of WWI.
