
Sajudis
Sajudis was a Lithuanian movement formed in the 1980s that aimed to restore independence from Soviet control. It united various groups advocating for political freedom, national identity, and democratic reforms. Operating as a grassroots, nonviolent organization, Sajudis played a key role in Lithuania’s push for independence, leading to the declaration of independence in 1990. Its efforts helped rekindle Lithuanian national pride and transition the country toward democratic governance.
