Saint Thomas Aquinas

Saint Thomas Aquinas was a medieval theologian and philosopher who sought to reconcile faith and reason. He is best known for his "Five Ways," which are arguments for the existence of God. These include the Argument from Motion (everything that moves has a mover), the Argument from Causation (everything that exists has a cause), and the Argument from Necessity (some beings must exist for others to exist). Aquinas believed that through observation and logic, one could arrive at the understanding of a first cause, which he identified as God, thus providing a rational foundation for faith.
