Saint (St.) Sebastian

Saint Sebastian was a Christian martyr and a notable figure in early Christianity, traditionally recognized for his courage and faith. He lived during the Roman Empire and was known for his role as a soldiers' protector and a promoter of Christianity, despite the risks involved. According to legend, he was arrested for his beliefs and shot with arrows by order of Emperor Diocletian, yet he survived. He is often depicted in art as a young man tied to a tree, surrounded by arrows. Saint Sebastian is venerated as the patron saint of archers, soldiers, and athletes.
