Saint Clare of Assisi

Saint Clare of Assisi was an Italian saint, born in 1194, who founded the Order of Poor Ladies, later known as the Poor Clares, a monastic order for women living a life of poverty and simplicity. Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, she embraced a lifestyle devoted to prayer and service, emphasizing humility and love for God. Clare is known for her strong leadership and commitment to her faith, even in the face of adversity. She was canonized in 1255, and her feast day is celebrated on August 11. She is recognized as a patron saint of television and goldsmiths.
