Saint André Bessette, also known as Brother André, was a Canadian religious brother born in 1845. He was a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross and dedicated his life to helping others, known for his deep faith and healing abilities. He became the first saint of Canada, canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010. Bessette is best known for building the Saint Joseph's Oratory in Montreal, a major pilgrimage site. His legacy emphasizes humility, compassion, and devotion to God, inspiring many through his commitment to faith and service throughout his life until his death in 1937.
