Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp

Sachsenhausen was a Nazi concentration camp near Berlin, operational from 1936 to 1945, used to imprison political opponents, Jews, Roma, and others. It functioned as a forced labor camp, where inmates were subjected to inhumane treatment, including torture, medical experiments, and executions. The camp's purpose was both punishment and intimidation, serving as a model for the network of camps across Nazi-occupied Europe. After WWII, it was liberated by Allied forces, and today it is a memorial and museum honoring victims and educating the public about the atrocities committed there.
