Saccule
The saccule is one of the small, fluid-filled structures in the inner ear that helps control balance and orientation. It detects movements and positions of your head, especially when you move vertically, like climbing stairs or jumping. The saccule contains sensory hair cells that respond to shifts in the fluid inside, sending signals to your brain about your position. This information works with other parts of your inner ear to help maintain stability, posture, and coordination, especially during rapid or complex movements.
