Rudolf Virchow (Pathologist)
Rudolf Virchow was a 19th-century German pathologist who is often referred to as the father of modern pathology. He made significant contributions to medicine by emphasizing that diseases are caused by changes in cells, coining the phrase "Omnis cellula e cellula," meaning "every cell originates from another cell." Virchow’s work laid the foundation for understanding how diseases develop and spread, which helped advance medical science. He was also a social advocate, believing that health is influenced by social conditions, and he emphasized the importance of public health and disease prevention.
