Rua Kenana

Rua Kenana was a Māori leader and prophet from New Zealand, born in 1869. He founded the fascinating religious movement Te Kooti Rauruatanga, which combined Māori traditions with Christian beliefs. Rua aimed to unite Māori people spiritually and politically, advocating for their rights and independence during a time of colonial tension. He established a community at Maungapōhatu, promoting Māori identity and autonomy. His leadership faced opposition from the government, leading to conflicts.
