Royal Gibraltar Regiment

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment is the primary military unit responsible for the defense and security of Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory at the southern tip of Spain. Comprising mainly local soldiers, it performs a range of duties including border security, ceremonial functions, and supporting civil authorities. Established in 1958, the regiment has a long history of protecting Gibraltar’s sovereignty and maintaining stability in the region. It functions both as a military force and as a symbol of British presence, ensuring safety and readiness in a strategically important and sensitive area.
