rotorcraft

A rotorcraft is a type of aircraft that uses one or more horizontal rotating blades, called rotors, to generate lift and enable it to fly. Unlike airplanes, which rely on fixed wings and forward motion, rotorcraft can take off and land vertically, hover in place, and fly in any direction. Examples include helicopters and some tiltrotor aircraft. The rotating blades create lift by pushing air downward, allowing the craft to move vertically, hover, or maneuver precisely. Rotorcraft are essential for tasks like rescue operations, transportation to hard-to-reach areas, and military missions due to their agility and vertical takeoff capabilities.
