Romeo Dallaire

Romeo Dallaire is a retired Canadian general and humanitarian who is best known for leading the United Nations peacekeeping mission during the Rwandan Genocide in 1994. Despite limited resources and challenging circumstances, he tried to prevent the mass violence but was overwhelmed by the scale of the crisis. Afterward, Dallaire worked to raise awareness about human rights and genocide prevention.
