Romani law

Romani law encompasses traditional customs, community norms, and formal legal systems that govern Romani people's social behavior and rights. It often includes family, marriage, and property practices distinct from national laws, emphasizing respect for elders, hospitality, and clan loyalty. While many Romani communities follow their customary laws internally, they also interact with the legal systems of their host countries. Romani law aims to preserve cultural identity, ensure social cohesion, and resolve disputes within the community, but it often coexists with, and sometimes challenges, mainstream legal frameworks.
