Rohit Chopra

Rohit Chopra is an American public servant and law professor, currently serving as the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a role he assumed in 2021. He was appointed to address consumer protection issues in financial markets, including tackling predatory lending practices and promoting fair access to credit. Before leading the CFPB, Chopra was a commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where he focused on consumer privacy and antitrust issues.
