RIR (Regional Internet Registries)

Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) are organizations responsible for managing and distributing the allocation of IP address spaces within specific regions of the world. IP addresses are like digital addresses for devices connected to the internet, enabling communication. RIRs ensure these addresses are allocated fairly and efficiently to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), companies, and organizations, helping to prevent address shortages and maintain the stability of the internet. There are five main RIRs worldwide, each serving different geographic areas, such as ARIN for North America or RIPE for Europe.
