Rift Valley Fever

Rift Valley Fever is a viral disease primarily affecting animals like sheep, goats, and cattle, but it can also infect humans. It is transmitted through bites from infected mosquitoes or contact with fluids from infected animals. In animals, it causes symptoms such as sudden death, abortions, and fever, while in humans, it can lead to flu-like symptoms, eye problems, or more severe complications like hemorrhagic fever. The disease is common in parts of Africa and the Middle East, especially after heavy rains that increase mosquito populations. Control measures include vaccination of animals and reducing mosquito breeding.
