Richard Morris Hunt (1827–1895) was a prominent American architect, known for his significant contributions to 19th-century architecture. He was influenced by European styles and played a key role in introducing the French Renaissance and eclectic designs to the United States. Hunt designed notable buildings, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, which is America’s largest privately-owned home. A founding member of the American Institute of Architects, Hunt's work helped shape the architectural landscape of America, blending functionality with elegance in many of his creations.
