Rhinosinusitis
Rhinosinusitis, commonly referred to as sinusitis, is an inflammation of the sinuses, which are air-filled spaces in the skull. This condition can cause symptoms like nasal congestion, facial pain, headache, and thick nasal discharge. It often occurs after a cold or due to allergies. Acute rhinosinusitis lasts for a short time, usually less than four weeks, while chronic cases can persist for months or even years. Treatment typically includes nasal sprays, decongestants, or, in some cases, antibiotics, depending on the cause and severity of the condition.
