Rewards and Punishments
Rewards and punishments are tools used to influence behavior. Rewards are positive outcomes or prizes given when someone does something good, encouraging them to repeat that behavior. Punishments are negative outcomes or consequences that occur when someone does something undesirable, aiming to discourage that behavior. Both are used to help guide choices and actions, shaping habits over time. For example, a student might earn praise for good grades (reward) and face extra homework for missing deadlines (punishment). These methods work by reinforcing behaviors we want to see more of, while reducing unwanted actions.
