Resource Curse
The resource curse refers to a paradox where countries rich in natural resources, like oil or minerals, often experience slower economic growth and more instability than those with fewer resources. This can occur because wealth from resources can lead to corruption, neglect of other economic sectors, and conflict over resource control. As a result, resource-rich nations may struggle with poverty, inequality, and poor governance, despite their abundance of valuable materials. Essentially, having resources doesn't guarantee prosperity and can sometimes make challenges even worse.
