Republika Srpska

Republika Srpska is one of the two main political entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina, established to recognize the Serb population’s interests. It has its own government, laws, and administrative structures, operating within the country's overall framework. The entity was created through the Dayton Accords in 1995 to promote peace after the Bosnian War. While part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska has a high degree of autonomy but remains connected to the state. Its identity is rooted in Serb ethnicity, culture, and history, contributing to the complex political and ethnic landscape of the region.
