Republic of Vietnam Navy

The Republic of Vietnam Navy (RVN Navy) was the naval military force of South Vietnam from 1955 until 1975. Its primary role was to protect South Vietnam’s coast, rivers, and maritime interests during the Vietnam War. The navy operated ships, submarines, boats, and amphibious forces to defend against North Vietnamese attacks and facilitate transportation and logistics. It also helped in blockades and special operations. Following the fall of Saigon in 1975, the navy's remaining personnel and vessels were dissolved or integrated into the communist Vietnam People's Navy.
