Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces
The Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces, also known as the South Vietnamese military, was the national military of South Vietnam from 1955 to 1975. It consisted of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, and was established to defend South Vietnam against North Vietnamese forces and insurgents during the Vietnam War. Supported by the United States and its allies, the force aimed to maintain stability, protect government interests, and combat communist expansion. Despite efforts and international support, the military ultimately fell to North Vietnamese forces when South Vietnam collapsed in 1975.
